Esta Guía documental III mantiene los objetivos de los volúmenes anteriores, a la vez que procura avanzar en la tarea de diversificar el registro de los materiales, con el fin de que su localización y conocimiento se hallen, cada vez más, al alcance de los investigadores. Así, además de continuar dando cuenta de los documentos que se conservan en los archivos y bibliotecas de la ciudad de México y de varias entidades del interior del país, se empieza a informar de los existentes en distintos repositorios de España, tales como el Archivo General de Indias, la Biblioteca Nacional en Madrid y el Archivo General de Simancas. A pesar de las limitaciones de esta última tarea debidas a las distancias a que se encuentran dichos repositorios, esta guía será de gran utilidad para los investigadores interesados en el tema.

This Guía documental III maintains the objectives of the prior volumes while simultaneously endeavoring to advance in the task of diversifying the registration of materials, so that their location and knowledge will be once again within reach of the investigators. Thus, in addition to noting the documents that are preserved in the archives and libraries of Mexico City and in those of the various states in Mexico, information begins to be provided on those existing in distinct repositories of Spain, such as the General Archive of the Indies, the National Library in Madrid, and the General Archive of Simancas. Despite the limitations of this latter task due to the distances at which these repositories are found, this guide will be highly useful for researchers interested in this topic.
